Kevin Prince Boateng’s mother was German and his father was Ghanaian .He is a soccer player and was born and raised in Germany. His younger brother Jerome Boateng plays for the German international team and Kevin Prince plays for the Ghana international team. Kevin Prince Boateng currently plays for the Italian team AC Milan. A few days ago AC Milan was playing against Pro Patria and Kevin Prince Boateng was verbally assaulted by a few fans who hurled racist insults at him. Kevin reacted angrily by kicking the ball into the stands and the stormed off the pitch. His team mates and the game officials followed suit and walked off the pitch with him.
Racist taunting during soccer games is very prevalent in Europe especially in Spain. FIFA has made numerous attempts to stop racism within the sport but some of these fans clearly are not listening. I am so proud of Kevin Boateng’s actions because these idiots need to understand that the game they claim to love is not about colour and if they won’t listen then. I think what made the whole incident bigger news though is that his team mates and the officials walked off with him and that support is admirable. Kudos to Kevin and I hope that FIFA will support him and do more.
